LA-based Electronica artist Moldover’s first album is not just a CD: The case itself is a functioning theremin-type circuit board instrument. Hitting a button and moving the board around generates squeaky electronic sounds that can be outputted for live performance or recorded and mixed with your own music.
Moldover is selling the circuit board version of the album for $50, with a standard $10 version and a digital download available as well. If this isn’t the coolest incentive to buy a physical copy of a record, I don’t know what is.
(Thanks, Bryan Vangelder!)
